■Go down the stairs using the stone lantern as a landmark. Go out of the East Exit of Shibuya Station, and you will find Shibuya Hikarie in front of you. Walk to the right and cross the overpass and go along Meiji-dori Street in the direction of Ebisu. Pass Shibuya Police Station and walk for a little while, and the stone lantern, probably the only one in Shibuya, will welcome you. Go down the stairs and enter the restaurant. ■A country storehouse-like space which makes you forget you are in the basement. When you open the door and step inside, you will see a wide open space with a high ceiling. The interior is a country storehouse-like space with a lot of atmosphere: thick tables made of solid wood cut out of a giant zelkova tree and finished with a sanding in which our entire staff took part, and tasteful sobachoko [small bowls for dipping sauce for buckwheat noodles], and other old curiosities.

Famous pork cutlet place around shibuya. Staffs can speak English. Menu is bilingual as well. Various sauces and side dishes to chose from but after trying various tonkatsu places I was wondering why this place made to top 100. Meat was dry and sauces were very factory assemble / chain restaurant like taste. Credit card is fine and only steps away from jr shibuya new south exit.

Get the set $75 for 3 people! The prawns are worth it! They were huge!!!! And so full of meat. Also get the Shiso Rice which was like cilantro rice but fresher. The pork was amazing. The fried Oyster was huge(extra). The fried qauil eggs were amazing(extra). The sauces were amazing. Miso soup was unique and earthy and a bit bitter.

If you want great tonkatsu not far from Shibuya station, I highly recommend this place. I assume if you're reading this that you are a tourist so let me assure you that you should just go for the 特上ãƒãƒ¼ã‚¹ã‹ã¤å®šé£Ÿ. It's well worth the cost. If you're going here a lot maybe you can save some money and not go for the top quality pork but it's amazing. Tender and juicy, with many different options for sauces, I recommend trying them all. I'm a bit of a traditionalist here and I'm all about the tonkatsu sauce but the other options are good too. One mild hiccup is that they never refilled our hot tea but there is cold tea at the table. Still, the food is awesome, and that's what matters the most to me.
